Avian Influenza
1. Poland reported 2 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds and 5 in poultry
On May 18, Poland reported 2 outbreaks in wild birds and 5 in poultry of H5N1 HPAI in Masovian Voivodeship and one other location, resulting in 47 wild birds and backyard poultry infected and died, and among commercial poultry, 194,000 infected, 535 deaths, and 107,000 culled.
2. Netherlands reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds and 1 in poultry
On May 18, the Netherlands reported 1 outbreak in wild birds and 1 in poultry of H5N1 HPAI in Utrecht Province and one other location, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died, and 50 poultry infected with 52,000 culled.
3. Estonia reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds
On May 18, Estonia reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Harju County, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.

On May 19 and 22, South Africa reported 114 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD in Limpopo Province and 3 other locations, resulting in 757 cattle and 2 wild African buffalo infected, with 16 cattle and 1 wild African buffalo dead, and 1 cattle culled.

On May 20, Israel reported 30 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD in the Northern District and 2 other locations, resulting in an unspecified number of sheep and 2 wild gazelles infected, and 6 sheep dead.
